Position Summary:

EMSCO Scientific Inc. is a 38-year-old minority owned and operated distributor of lab supplies & equipment, chemicals, pharmaceutical excipients, proteins and antibodies to numerous biomedical research laboratories and pharmaceutical companies in the Philadelphia area. These labs are engaged in oncology research, bio-molecular research, veterinary research, genetics, pharmacology, biochemistry and areas of biomedical research. EMSCO is a local, small disadvantaged business located within the West Philadelphia community.

Description:

The EMSCO Field Sales Representative is accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through assigned territory. He or she will develop and implement agreed upon operating plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer sales in the assigned geography. The Field Sales Representative will work within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long term account goals in line with the EMSCO corporate vision and strategy.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages a territory consisting of scientific customers across various bio-medical disciplines

  • Leverage available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with Senior Vice President and the Customer Sales team

  • Manage the strategic direction of the territory; Develops sales strategies to meet plan and expand business assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives

  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory

  • Be aware of competitor and industry trends and activity and keep informed of new products and other general information

  • Maintain accurate reporting, records and files necessary for proper management of territory

  • Positively represents EMSCO Scientific at all times throughout customer service

Minimum Requirements/ Qualifications

  • It is preferred that the candidate have experience at the bench as a researcher and understands essential tools that are used in biomedical and life science research.

  • 2+ years of sales experience preferred, preferably in the research laboratory industry, pharmaceutical industry, or medical device industry

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the life sciences or equivalent work experience

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet

  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed

  • Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred

  • Must be able to travel to customer locations
